LOL Swing Top – Pattern Tour

The LOL Swing Top (affiliate link) -what a great name for a top, and what a great top for any girl! It’s not everyday that you can twirl your TOP! This half-circle racer-back style top is great on it’s own, or even layered!

Jenn has been working overtime getting all of the details on this perfect. Her patterns are impeccable and leave NOTHING hanging! This is a knit version, but the pattern includes all the details on making it in a woven as well. You could probably mix it up a bit and do some woven and knit! In fact, I was thinking of trying lace on the back and then a woven front and using it as a layering piece this winter on top of boring old long sleeve shirts! more

Acai-Mango Lemonade

This is one of my favorite summertime drinks, and it tastes very similar to a drink I’ve had at Starbucks!

Start with some herbal tea like this (or any mango blend you can find!), some lemons, honey and some hot water.

Now, a warning – making tea or lemonade is a highly individual thing, so these are just guidelines…feel free to tweak it as you go! More honey, or more lemon, it’s all up to you! more

Sugar & Spice dress

I’ve got a cute little dress to show you today! I made this adorable dress for a friend who was expecting and on “team green” with hopes (my hopes, that is!) that it would be a girl 😉 Our church has an abundance of boys….and it seems to be growing! She had a little boy, so I’ll just have to save this for someone, ANYONE that has a little girl!! more

Skirting the Issue – a Chevron Skirt Tutorial

Hi there! Were you looking for this earlier? Don’t worry, it’s just Friday and of COURSE my computer decided on a different schedule! Anyway, I’m so happy to be sharing a skirt tutorial as part of Simple Simon’s Skirting the Issue event!

This is not my tutorial, but one that I felt needed to be passed on….it’s so cute! Originally posted over on the Sewing Rabbit blog by Designs by Sessa. Also, this is not a skirt tutorial as much as it is a way to “fancy up” your skirts – any skirt! more

A summertime catch-up!

Wow. Summertime blogging is for the birds! We’ve been watching our garden grow, playing in the pool, camping – a little sewing? Things are definitely slow around here, and I’m enjoying it! Don’t you worry, there are some fun things coming up in the next couple of months, and then once winter hits, well….since I don’t really like being outside in -30 cold, I’ll be sewing up a storm again. more
